How Qonto Won the Hearts of Germany’s Founder Scene

Challenge
Qonto is seen as a strong French fintech with clear advantages, but struggled to truly “arrive” in Germany: to feel like part of the local entrepreneurship culture and build a distinctly German image. Together with Mastercard, the task was to raise awareness for Qonto and its products, shift perception towards locally relevant – and win new customers.
Solution
We built an event- and ambassador-led ecosystem: from Creators Night to the Pop-up Store and PowerUp Berlin. By bringing together the who’s who of the German founder scene – from Ann-Kathrin Schmitz and Diana zur Löwen to Tijen Onaran – we turned them into authentic Qonto advocates, supported by targeted paid campaigns on Meta and TikTok.
Results
Across multiple waves, the co-branded activations generated over 20 million impressions and more than 50,000 clicks to Qonto and event landing pages – with CTRs above benchmark. Qonto evolved from “French fintech in Germany” to a brand that feels at home in the local founder culture, while Mastercard cemented its role as an enabler of modern entrepreneurship.
